The Rainbow Run is a fun run/walk that explodes with excitement for everyone on June 3, 2017 who supports diversity, acceptance, and anti-bullying. The course runs through the streets of Ferndale and has six stations where volunteers toss non-toxic, colored powder onto race participants. Everyone is covered in a rainbow of colors at the finish line! Your sponsorship helps to fund six chosen non-profit organizations.
5th Annual Rainbow Run Announced in Ferndale
Ferndale, MI- The 5th Annual “Rainbow Run” is making great strides in celebrating diversity, anti-bullying and acceptance. On Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 am, participants will take to the streets of Ferndale and be covered in a rainbow of colors by the finish line.
This year’s events will feature the standard 5K run and 2K walk, as well as the 2K “Canine Color Walk”. Throughout the course, each participant will be dashed with different colors, leaving them in a variety of vibrant hues by the time they reach the finish line.
Kim Hart, the Executive Director of the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce, says, “I'm looking forward to putting together this exciting event for our community and beyond! We have fantastic business sponsors and we have six charitable organizations that we are passionate about supporting.”
Among this year’s beneficiaries of the event are Ferndale Pride, Habitat for Humanity, Team GUTS, Camp Casey, Blessings in a Backpack, and The Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce. These organizations do great work to promote community and foster acceptance and anti-bullying.
Those wishing to participate in the Rainbow Run this year are encouraged to pre-register, at a discounted cost, prior to the event at rainbowrunferndale.com. Registration will also be held the morning of the race. All participants in the “Canine Color Walk” must possess a current Michigan Dog License tag for any participating pups.

The Rainbow Run aims to promote ideas of diversity and acceptance within the community, emphasizing a strong anti-bullying message. This colorful celebration takes place the same day as Ferndale Pride.
